Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered in a search feature is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that feature. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems. The provider processes the query under its own policies and technical practices.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details supplied with it for as long as reasonably needed to respond and manage the correspondence. We do not share a message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Normal web technology can create technical records when a page loads. The information may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- Browser name and software version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Date and time stamps associated with the visit
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and support site functions. Browser controls can reject, limit, or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause some features to work differently or become unavailable.
Reasons We Use Information
Collected information is used for a limited set of operational purposes:
- Keeping pages available, responsive, and reliable
- Sending a search request to the appropriate partner service
- Understanding which Warren County record pages visitors find useful
- Diagnosing errors, abuse, and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be selected by visitor interests
Websites Beyond Our Control
Links may lead to the Warren County Sheriff, Illinois Department of Corrections, Illinois court resources, release-record portals, legal materials, or outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices apply. We do not control those services.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across more than one website and select interest-based advertisements. That collection occurs on the provider’s systems, not on systems operated by Warren County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be handled by the following parties when needed for the stated site functions or legal compliance:
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure visits and site performance
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Measures Used to Protect Data
We use customary administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a small public-information website. No method of internet transmission, connected storage, or online service is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that information will never be intercepted, lost, altered, or accessed without authorization.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may contact us to request its deletion.
Choices About Personal Data
Depending on the law that applies and whether we hold the relevant information, a person may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal data held about that person
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Erase personal information that no longer must be retained
- Stop or opt out of certain forms of processing
These choices concern information we control. Requests about a Warren County government record, an IDOC record, or partner-held search data must go to the organization that maintains it. Illinois public-body records are governed in part by the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, subject to exemptions and other law.
Revisions to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as services, technology, or legal duties change. A revised version becomes available on this page with a new effective date. Visitors should review the current version when returning to the site.
